I’m Candice, a freelance creative designer. I love colour, shapes, simplicity, and conceptual creativity.
I’ve spent many years in the advertising industry as an Art Director, Graphic Designer, and Studio Manager (both in the UK and South Africa). I decided to go freelance when I had children, offering a more balanced life. I’ve been happily freelancing for 10 years and have had the privilege of working with some incredible people and brands.
STUDIES + WORK EXPERIENCE
I studied for three years at the AAA School of Advertising in Johannesburg, where I graduated with a Higher Diploma in Visual Communication. I secured a full scholarship after my first year and won a coveted award, having one of my projects produced for TV.
Since then I have been fortunate to gain a wealth of experience working with exceptional people in various agencies, from large corporates to boutique agencies. Over the last 19 years, I have had the opportunity to work with many amazing brands – from the big names to start-ups and everything in between. Below are a few of them:
As a solution provider, I boast a wealth of experience across all media from brand identity, print and magazines, websites, and digital through to environment branding and everything in between. I believe in collaborative working, developing strong (and fun) working relationships, to properly understand a client’s needs, wants, and objectives. I’m flexible and adaptable in my approach as every business and brief is unique.
Never one to miss a deadline, I work effectively and quickly to get things done. I’m creatively charged, passionate about what I do, and love to produce thought-based, beautiful, clever designs.
I recently ran a Small Biz called My Busy Bots – but made the hard decision to close it in 2023. While running MBB I managed to scoop multiple awards, get the business onto a TV show (The Customer is Always Right, on BBC – we won our episode!), and get featured by many fabulous influencers, as well as build a large social following.
Apart from being a creative, I’m also a mom, wife, ball thrower for an energetic dog, colour-obsessed, craft dabbler, painter, tennis player and am very partial to sequins, live gigs and dancing.
